Close-Up of Jackson Magnolia

This undated photograph of a Jackson Magnolia was taken by Erik Kvalsvik. According to legend, President Andrew Jackson planted the magnolias to commemorate his wife Rachel, who passed away two weeks before his inauguration. They are among the most famous trees on the White House Grounds but their origin story is likely apocryphal.
